… I seem to have forgotten that I have a blog in the past week :s Sorry! As I think I said in my last post, Christmas is thoroughly upon me at work so I won’t be around much until the end of the month (and possibly after that) but as Ben suggested, I’m not letting go of Project:365, I’m putting it on hold and starting it up again (hopefully) at the end of the month. There’s no chance of carrying on with it before then as due to being on a computer for nearly 8 hours straight at work (partially working through my lunch breaks), believe it or not when I get home I don’t really want to sit at my PC. So I’ve been reading. I started the 4th (and final) book of the Twilight series this morning after a very late night last night so I could finish the 3rd.

Anyway, I’m encroaching on Christmas-time so I better go, just thought you’d like to know that yes, I am still alive!

Project!Fail & Twilight

•August 8, 2008 • 1 Comment

Yep, that is correct, I totally FAIL :( Work has become so hectic that I have no chance to think let alone take pictures of anything which sucks :( I really wanted to achieve this too so I’m really disappointed with myself. The only reason I’m actually posting at work is down to the fact that if I carried on with what I was doing (without a break) for the rest of the morning, I might actually go insane… or at least my brain would turn to mush making it useless for the rest of the day!

It also doesn’t help things that since I last posted I have become completely addicted to (and obsessed with) Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series. I read pretty much all of Twilight on Sunday, then about 80% of New Moon yesterday and I have Eclipse & Breaking Dawn winging their way to me for the beginning of next week (as I couldn’t stand to be without them I actually paid postage and got them from Amazon, rather than have to wait the excruciating 3/5 days that Play.com takes to send them postage-free).

If you haven’t read them, like easy-reads and stories about vampires, I thoroughly recommend them! I might actually do a series review on them when I’m done with Breaking Dawn, but I don’t think I’d be very good at it so I might not ;)

Project:365 – catchup days 32-38

Day 32 – My BFS bag ripped :(

Day 33 – Lunch of Champions … Mini Cheddars & BBQ Sauce :)

Day 34 – My beautiful red shoes, I was using them to help me draw some stilettos.

Day 35 – I went to see The Dark Knight with some of my friends.

Day 36 – I treated myself to a picture I’ve been wanting to buy for a while

Day 37 – These flowers are the only thing that is in flower in my garden right now. They’re everywhere and I have no idea what they’re called!

Day 38 – I bought these at the beginning of the week. I finished Death Note Vol 1 this morning and started on Twilight straight away… I’m already halfway through o.0

My thoughts on the Batman (SPOILERS!)

I freakin’ loved Dark Knight. Heath Ledger’s performance blew me away :) Although saying that he could have put more into it – as my friend, Craig, pointed out, the more jokey-side of the Joker, with the dancing and more hysterical giggling etc, which would have made his dark moments even darker.

I was so happy about seeing the transition from Harvey to Two-Face, Two-Face being my 2nd favourite Batman villain, but I was gutted they killed him! I would have loved to see Harvey’s path to the ‘Dark Side’ continued for him to become a proper-proper villain in the next movie (as I’m assuming they’ll be doing more) but it’s been taken away from me :’(

Batman’s voice was constant hilarity for me tho, seriously, it sounded like he had a cold which just got progressively worse. I also wasn’t impressed by the actual Bruce Wayne scenes, it was all just a bit transparent, if you get what I mean? Don’t get me wrong, I love Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne/Batman but I don’t think enough was made to distinguish the two.

The story was a bit lacking too. By the end of the film I’d completely forgotten about the Japanese guy and why he was even there but that might have been because I was so absorbed by Ledger & Ackhart’s performances. And the last line….. CHEESY AS HELL!

One bit I really did like (and laughed at because I am a sick bitch), was when that guy had the mobile phone sewn into his stomach and the Joker rang the phone to set the bomb off. Fuckin’ funny. Yep, I said I was sick :p Oooh, and I loved the big black convict-guy who threw the detonator out of the window :)

All in all though… Dark Knight = MADE.OF.WIN!

Another new show for me to love?

Well, not quite. It’s not even out in the States until January but I don’t care. I’m talking, of course, about Joss Whedon’s newest offering – Dollhouse.

Starring Eliza Dushku in the lead role, it’s about a secret facility where ‘Dolls’ or ‘Actives’ have their personalities wiped clean and new ones ‘imprinted’ on them. The show follows Echo (Dushku), one of the Dolls who is starting to become self-aware and those around her – 2 other dolls, the people who run The Dollhouse & a federal agent determined to unearth the truth about the facility.

Check out the trailer HERE.

My first thoughts – the show looks awesome but from the stills I’ve seen, Dushku really needs to put some weight on. Luckily she went back into Buffy after they’d all been told to pile some pounds on as all the characters were looking a bit skeletal, so Season 7 Faith actually looked really healthy. Now she’s gone back to being a bit stick-like. Ah well, I still can’t wait for it to start!

No minis for me :(

It’s Southern Mini Days this coming weekend and I just can’t afford to go. I also don’t want to subject my little love bug (Duurf) to another 600 miles :( I’m trying to keep these thoughts in my head for reason not to go…

  • the above mentioned mileage
  • having to take a day holiday from work (I need to save all I can)
  • I’m going to see The Dark Knight on Thursday and NOTHING is interfering with *that* plan!
  • I’m not sure I want to spend the weekend with the other half’s best friend’s girlfriend. I don’t like her all that much.
  • I don’t want to spend the weekend playing with a 6 & 4 yr old. As much as I love V & Z, I need a relaxing(ish) break from work, not a child’s play time one.
  • if I go this weekend, I can’t go south for Bank Holiday, therefore I won’t get to see little M.
  • if I go, it’ll be taking money from my savings which I want to use for my board come October. And I am getting that board DAMMIT!
I figure if I keep these thoughts in my head, I won’t mind being at home alone all weekend!

Yep, I’ve been AWOL…

I’m sorry! I have been crap at keeping up with my life and blogging at the same time. If you’ve seen my project:365 pictures you’ll know I’ve been busy these past 2 weekends and although it doesn’t look like it, work has been uber-crazy too. It’s that delightful time of year where (if you work in the mail order/ transactional website/ retail business) where I’m gearing up for Christmas.

Yup, Christmas!

I have one more catalogue to go through (will take a couple of weeks) and then it will be the most insane 2/3 weeks of my working year. Oh the joy! </sarcasm>

On a plus note the past weekend at my mum and dad’s was most excellent! I didn’t fight with my mum, I didn’t even get annoyed at her and my dad washed my car :D I also got fitted for my lovely dress, several times might I add!! I can’t wait to get it!

Project:365 – days 26 thru 31

Day 26 – The catalogue editor at work bought everyone in the office Tunnock’s Mallows. They were yummy and exactly what everyone needed!

Day 27 – We planned on seeing Mamma Mia tonight (hence the photo), but when we got to the front of the line they’d sold out :o (

Day 28 – I am addicted to Scooby Doo Tropical Fruit Juice. That is all ;o)

Day 29 – I went down to my mum & dad’s. My dad had this beer for me to test – made with Champagne yeast and with some sort of elderberry infusion or something. It tastes like lager. I hated it :o p

Day 30 – My dad is very proud of his massive tomato plants so I promised him I use them for my picture ;o)

Day 31 – Before I came home I took loads of pictures in my mum & dad’s garden. I love these flowers and we’ve had loads of them since I was little but I can never remember their name!

Project:365 – Days 21, 22, 23 (kinda), 24 & 25

•July 21, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Day 21 – The perfect way to end the day – a glass of Jacques before bed

Day 22 – Waiting for my boy to arrive… I had to do something so I read, although I only read for about 10 mins (excluding the minutes I kept looking out of the window for him ;) )

Days 23 & 24 – We went for a lovely walk along the canal and as I couldn’t find anything to photograph yesterday so I’m putting in two!!

Day 25 – The sky today. Beautifully clear.
